EK Group was founded in 2001 with the opening of its main headquarters (Elettrotek Kabel Europe), a small company specialized in the distribution of special electrical cables.

From the beginning, we believed that the true strength of a company lies in its people, in their experience, and in their passion for their work.

Over the years, we have grown by expanding production and investing in increasingly advanced technologies — without ever losing what sets us apart: artisanal care, attention to quality, and closeness to our customers.
Every milestone we reach is the result of a shared journey built on listening and mutual trust.

Today, with over twenty-five years of experience behind us, we continue to look ahead with the same philosophy that has guided us since day one: doing things well, together.

Our History

The history of EK Group is marked by steady growth — the result of targeted acquisitions, forward-thinking strategies, and an ongoing commitment to improving its offering and customer service. Over the years, the company has strengthened its position in the fields of industrial and automation cables, shipbuilding, lifting equipment, and offshore and onshore platforms — standing out for its innovation, quality, and reliability. Every step of EK Group’s journey reflects a drive to evolve, anticipate market needs, and offer cutting-edge technological solutions — reaffirming its position as a leading name in the cable and systems industry.

2001

2001 Elettrotek Kabel S.p.A. is founded — the central headquarters and main distribution hub of EK Group.
The company took its first steps as a distributor with the goal of offering customers an efficient, complete service based on the ability to identify the most suitable solution, ensure fast deliveries, and provide effective after-sales support.
From this corporate vision came the project of Roberto Gallingani, CEO of EK Group, who built a solid, integrated supply chain — today one of the Group’s key strengths and distinctive features.
2011

After beginning exports to Europe and the Americas, Elettrotek Kabel North America was inaugurated in Parsippany, New Jersey.
This branch developed a solid and structured network of partnerships across Europe, the Middle East, and North America.
With its recent move to a new facility, Elettrotek Kabel North America has further expanded its range of stocked cables, ensuring faster response times and even more efficient service for customers in the U.S. and LATAM regions.
2017

This year marks the start of a new chapter for EK Group with the acquisition of SDB Special Cables (Vicenza, Italy).
The Group began the in-house design and production of special cables, drawing on the team’s thirty years of experience and increasingly specialized technical know-how.
This strategic move strengthened EK Group’s ability to offer custom solutions, ensuring quality, innovation, and complete control over every stage of the production process.
2021

The Group expanded its reach with the acquisition of Elettrotek Kabel Canada, a logistics hub in Ontario that became a strategic reference point for the Canadian market.
This expansion further strengthened EK Group’s international presence, ensuring more efficient distribution and direct support to customers across North America.

In the same year, EK Group implemented a strategic decision long in the making — born from the need to offer customers a more complete, integrated solution.
With the acquisition of MB Technology, the Group expanded its capabilities, becoming able to provide not only special cables but also complete cable-connector systems.
This added significant value for applications in the automotive, agricultural, medical, intralogistics, and e-mobility sectors — where reliability, performance, and integration make all the difference.
2023

EK Group further consolidated its standing in the cable manufacturing sector through the strategic acquisition of the historic CCI Cable Service (Ferentino, Italy).
Founded in 1981, the company has long been a leader in the marine, offshore, and oil & gas industries, recognized for its strong expertise in developing specialized and customized solutions.
This acquisition allowed EK Group to expand its production capacity, promote greater technological innovation, and access new international markets — strengthening the Group’s leadership in the global industrial cable landscape.
2024

EK Group continued to grow with the acquisition of ATB Cablaggi, based in Pieve Vergonte (Verbano-Cusio-Ossola), specialized in the production and assembly of electrical and electronic wiring, as well as in the manufacture of control and automation panels.
Thanks to continuous investment in innovation, safety, and quality, ATB Cablaggi is now a strategic partner within EK Group, reinforcing its production chain and its ability to offer integrated, high-performance solutions.
2025

As part of its ongoing growth and consolidation, EK Group acquired Romana Elettrotecnica Srl, a company with experience dating back to 1985 in the production of low-voltage electrical panels.
Together with MB Technology and ATB Cablaggi, Romana Elettrotecnica became part of EK Connect, the division dedicated to the development of integrated connection solutions.

To further strengthen EK Group’s commercial and distribution network, C.E.Fi.S, a long-established Italian company specializing in wholesale electrical cable trade, also joined the Group — enhancing EK Group’s nationwide distribution efficiency and coverage.
